For spouses, the law regulates many things. But are these rules actually beneficial for you? Perhaps you would prefer a different arrangement. Maybe you own a business or have significant family assets. Or you have debts that you don’t want to burden your (future) partner with. You might also want to specify how your pension accumulation is handled in the event of a divorce.
It is advisable to arrange this before marriage, but it can also be done afterward. You can also decide to amend it at any time.
